Hey everyone! 👋 I’m excited to share a project we’ve been working on that has improved how we manage customer support for one of our other products (Travel Mapper). We built SupportScribe to help us handle an increasing volume of emails from customers faster and without growing our small three-person team. Here’s our journey and why we believe SupportScribe can be beneficial for other businesses too. The Problem: Managing Customer Support at Scale At Travel Mapper, we were dealing with a common challenge: a growing number of users that results in more customer emails, steadily decreasing the time we have for building and increasing the time spent on customer support. Many of these emails were repetitive questions that could be answered by our FAQs or other published resources, but customers often preferred to email us directly. The Solution: AI-Powered Email Responses To solve this, we created SupportScribe, a ChatGPT-powered add-on for Gmail designed to help respond to more emails faster and more efficiently in Gmail. Here are the benefits we've found: -Automated Drafts: SupportScribe can draft responses based on your existing FAQs and knowledge base, ensuring customers get quick, accurate answers without waiting for a human response. Uploading PDFs of such documentation enables your GPT to learn your product and generate accurate responses. -Scalability: With SupportScribe, you can manage a higher volume of emails with less time and people by having draft responses created right in Gmail for you to review before sending. No more starting from scratch on an email reply, but retaining full control on hitting Send when you know the response is good to go. -Save Time: It helps reduce the time spent on repetitive customer support responses, allowing small teams to spend more time on development and growth.
