I'm glad you got a lot of traffic on this product today! I'm close to switching to your app instead of keeping my little Notes list, but I would love the ability to add books manually instead of using the search/scan function. Would assist with tracking comics and books in other languages!
@bansini Check out my new update—this feature is now included! :)

@alexgerrese thanks for being so proactive with adding features! It feels great when a maker hears you out :)

Good idea, I've been doing this in a spreadsheet for the last 5+ years so I think there's a usecase worth solving here. I think one piece thats missing for this to be great is the ability to sync books from Goodreads (or other sources like Audible). Adding books manually is a pain even if the UI is simple and intuitive. Being able to open the app, see the book that I've marked as "currently reading" on goodreads right away and quickly add notes would be magic.
🚨EXCITING NEWS🚨
Summarize has been featured by Apple as one of the "Apps We Love Right Now" on the App Store! 🎉
A HUGE thanks to everyone who checked out the app and provided feedback! I've read all of your comments, and I'm working hard to incorporate as much as possible in the upcoming versions of the app.
Some things a lot of you mentioned that are in the works:
- GoodReads integration
- Custom lists
- Markdown/rich text formatting
- Syncing between devices

@alexgerrese is there a way to export the database in some common format (e.g. excel)? As a user, I can’t know that your app will always be around/compatible with my devices so being able to export all the insights I’ve logged is a must-have. Otherwise I’d just be too scared to write anything.

Nice work Alex!
Pros: Great design, lightweight, quick download
Improvements:
-Making it a little clearer what list your adding a book into on the first go
-The Search was a little finicky for me after I searched something with no results (search stopped working after that)
@vihar_desu Thanks for thé feedback! I’ll get on those ASAP 👍🏻

Awesome product. I have been begging for something like this. Now, even more valuable to me.....
A chrome extension that would allow me to do this for more than just books. PDFs I read, articles, blogs, white papers, etc. I want a solution to seamlessly organize every piece of content I digest. If I could categorize them into a customizable set of things and take my notes and whatnot, as well as to have a "to-do" reading list, it would be perfect.
As I write this, I just gave myself a project to do...gonna build it out using Airtable and a couple of integrations, but an all in one solution would be something I would be willing to pay for...

@ryan_bua please let me know if you end up making it! I use a highlight extension currently, you might find their structure interesting when designing your product

@bansini can you share the name of the extension? We might be on to something here!

Taking notes won't stop me from choking when I actually try to talk about the book later, haha. But good job.
