We use a reputation system. Each time a student gets help from a tutor they give a 1 - 5 star review of that tutor.

How do you maintain the quality of tutors?

@Richardwerbe is it just text? any video tutoring component?

Sean, I like the approach but curious how you see the space on aggregate. How will you compete with well-established guys like Chegg or CourseHero?
Richardwerbe
@Tbizi Like any marketplace its all about efficiency. The market we are after is that of students that want help with specific questions ASAP. Coursehero & Chegg are great services but don't solve this issue as efficiently as we do. Coursehero' s (primarily a note bank) price points are intimidatingly high and Cheggs q/a service requires students to answer other students questions.
Travis Biziorek
@richardwerbe Agree w/ you regarding Coursehero, but I know Chegg's q/a service was built via the Cramster acquisition. I admit I don't know how it works today, but I pre-acquisition it wasn't students answering the q/a questions. They definitely had experts doing it.
