Hey everyone,
I’m the founder of StoryForage, and I wanted to share a bit about why I built it.
As an indie author myself, I’ve spent years dealing with platforms that take huge cuts, bury your work behind paywalls or ads, or make it nearly impossible to get discovered without gaming the algorithm. I wanted something different—something that puts readers and writers first.
Imagine a place where discovering books feels as easy as Netflix, and talking about them feels as natural as Reddit. That’s the experience I’m building with StoryForage.
StoryForage is a platform where:
Readers can discover original stories, follow the authors they enjoy, and join real discussions around the books they’re reading.
Authors can publish freely, earn per page read through subscriptions, and keep 90% of any book sales they make.
Discovery is based on engagement—users read, like, and rate—not on ads or pay-to-win tactics.
There’s no exclusivity, no hidden fees, and no catch. It’s still early, but the foundation is solid—and I’ve built this to be a space where indie stories can thrive without the usual gatekeeping.
It’s designed as a mobile-first PWA that works like a native app when installed. For now, only the homepage is accessible on desktop—everything else is optimized for mobile to give readers the best experience on the go.
I’d love to hear your feedback. If you’re a reader or a writer—or both—check it out and let me know what you think. I’m here for the long haul.
