We're big believers that "web apps are apps" but always felt a bit left out - neither the "big company" app stores, search, nor review platforms really gave us what we needed. So we're building it!

@morgan_bender love seeing more PWA-love out in the world! thanks for building this. how do you think about curation/moderation? how do you think about payments?

@deekay Hi David, thanks for the kind words! Re curation - this will be an evolving process that will become more personalized over time, but up front is a bit more basic. Re payments, we're early in the journey, but we plan to make it easy for web app devs to accept an "appy" payment UX using any rails available :-)
I immediately started praying that this platform would succeed when I learned of it some time ago on Hacker News. As an app developer, it sucks having to depend on Google and Apple for existing, being told what is kosher ON YOUR OWN APP, and having to give them a cut of everything (even donations!).
Dear Lord, please let Store.app succeed and guard them from all gatekeeping temptations. Amen
@morgan_bender I think the next step could be to torpedo another core of the evil corpos such as ads. If you built an alternative to adsense that actually made sense for adveritsers and ad hosts that would be great. I'd totally be willing to include non-google ads in my recently created anti-SEO search engine (aisearch.vip) so as to scrap the paid tier and offer the entire thing for free
If you manage to build enough moat and gain enough popularity, this could be it. Just an idea...
@javier_anton That's a very interesting idea, I like it! We're heads down on some upcoming features, but I may reach out to you to connect and discuss this more, if you'd be open to it.
Really impressed with this, I suspect it's what Steve Jobs was thinking when he said web apps were the future. Regardless of wether that was just to bide time before the app store came out or if he actually believed it at the time, he had a point.

@simon_barker1 Haha we talk about that often in the office. I'm confident he truly believed in that idea when they released the first iPhone, but the web just wasn't where it needed to be yet. We think that the web is mature enough today to make that vision a reality! Thanks for the kind words!
