Stop Swarm takes a different approach to screen time. Instead of blocking apps or sending reminders, it progressively fills your screen with visual swarms as your usage increases. You stay in control, but doomscrolling becomes harder to ignore. It runs locally on Android with no account, no ads and no analytics. App targeting and intensity controls let you decide where and how strongly it intervenes.
Hi everybody!
I built Stop Swarm because most screen-time tools either block apps completely or send notifications that are very easy to ignore.
I wanted to try something different: the longer you use your phone, the more visual swarms progressively appear on top of your apps. Nothing is blocked, but continuing to scroll becomes increasingly hard to ignore.
I spent the last few weeks testing it with a small group of users, fixing bugs and adding things like app targeting and intensity controls.
The Android version is now live and completely free. There are no ads, accounts or analytics, and screen-time processing stays on the device.
I’d love to hear whether you think this kind of visual friction could actually change your scrolling habits, and which swarm would annoy you enough to put the phone down.
