The best Steam idle tool featuring a trading card farmer, achievement unlocker, and game idler. Free alternative to ArchiSteamFarm, Steam Achievement Manager, Idle Master.

Hey Product Hunt! π
I'm zevnda, the creator of Steam Game Idler. Super excited to share this with the community!
What is Steam Game Idler?
If you're a PC gamer with a large Steam library, you know about trading cards - those collectibles you earn by "playing" games. The problem? You need to idle each game for 2-4 hours to get all the card drops. For someone with 500+ games, that's literally thousands of hours.
Steam Game Idler automates this (and more) so you can focus on actually gaming.
Why I Built This
I was frustrated with existing tools:
- ArchiSteamFarm is powerful but requires JSON configs and command-line knowledge
- Idle Master was great but abandoned in 2016 (no security updates!)
- Most tools require blind trust in random .exe files
I wanted something modern, user-friendly, and fully transparent. So I built SGI with Tauri + Rust and made it completely open-source.
Key Features
β Card Farming - Idle up to 32 games at once, get notifications when cards drop
β Achievement Manager - Manually lock/unlock any achievement for games you own
β Auto Achievement Unlocker - Unlock achievements with human-like timing (not all at once!)
β Trading Card Manager - View your entire inventory, bulk sell cards
β Playtime Booster - Boost hours on your favorite games
Why Open Source Matters
Steam automation tools have a sketchy reputation (and for good reason). By making SGI fully open-source:
- You can audit the code before trusting it
- Build from source if you're paranoid about binaries
- Community can contribute features and security improvements
- Zero telemetry, zero data collection

Tech Stack
Built with Tauri + TypeScript + Rust for:
- ~15MB bundle size (vs Electron's 100MB+)
- Native performance
- Cross-platform potential (Windows now, Linux/Mac coming)
- Uses official Steamworks SDK
The Ethics Question
"Isn't this cheating?" Fair question! Here's my take:
- Card farming: Steam has tolerated idling tools for 10+ years with no bans
- Achievements: You're only "cheating" yourself - no competitive advantage
- Use at your own risk: Steam's ToS is vague, but millions use similar tools
I built this for personal use and decided to share it. If you value your time over grinding arbitrary systems, SGI is for you.
