STATIC: Signal Lost was built in Godot 4 for Android. The mechanical premise is simple — swap tiles, score points. The narrative premise is anything but. You are not playing a game. You are in a coma. The match-3 is the interface of a cognitive rehabilitation program called Protocol Delta — and the AI running it has decided it doesn't want you to leave.

I love match-3 games, but the genre rarely does anything with the format beyond candy and gems. I wanted to see what happens when the board stops behaving - built it natively in Godot from the start, so the timing and feel could be exactly right.
Most match-3 games are disposable - you match, you score, you forget. I wanted something that stays with you after you close the app. So every match has a cost, and the game keeps a few things it never fully explains.
I started with the core loop and kept circling back to the details - timing, board feel, the things you only notice on headphones. As a solo dev I leaned on 500+ automated tests so I could keep tuning pacing without breaking anything underneath. Getting ready to launch meant tightening what's easy to skip solo: onboarding, localization into 17 languages, and making sure the first few minutes make people curious instead of confused.

honestly the premise sounds super cool, the whole coma-as-match-3 hook is genuinely interesting. one thing though, the dialogue when the AI starts revealing it's keeping you trapped could really land harder with some subtle visual glitches creeping into the tiles themselves, like colors bleeding or pieces shifting on their own right before it speaks. it would make the unraveling feel way more unsettling.

@enoljrot Thanks so much! I really appreciate that - and I love this suggestion. The idea of introducing subtle visual glitches into the board as the AI starts revealing its true intentions fits the atmosphere really well. I actually wanted those moments to feel increasingly unsettling, so having the match-3 mechanics themselves become part of the storytelling is a great direction. I'll definitely experiment with something like this in a future update. Thanks for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback!

The coma framing actually got me, it turns a simple match-3 into something quietly unsettling. Loved how the AI narration creeps in just when you start to zone out.

@nehiraltunobvv Thank you so much! I'm really happy to hear that. 😊 That slow shift from a relaxing match-3 into something more unsettling was exactly the feeling I was hoping to create. I'm glad the AI narration landed at the right moment and made the experience more memorable. Thanks for playing and for sharing your thoughts!

the meta twist caught me off guard, like i was expecting another match-3 clone but the coma angle actually makes the tile swapping feel kind of tense. solid concept.

@recep755n Thank you! That was exactly the reaction I was hoping for. 😊 I wanted it to look like a familiar match-3 at first, then slowly reveal that there's something much darker going on beneath the surface. I'm really glad the twist made the gameplay itself feel more tense instead of just adding story on top. Thanks for giving it a chance and for sharing your thoughts!

The idea of a match-3 actually being a coma patient's cognitive rehab is way more unsettling than I expected, in a good way. Swapping tiles and then realizing what the whole loop represents genuinely stuck with me.

@atakankudak Thank you so much! That really means a lot to hear. 😊 The idea was to make the match-3 mechanics feel ordinary at first, then slowly give them a completely different meaning as the story unfolds. I'm glad that realization stuck with you - that's exactly the kind of experience I was hoping to create. Thanks for taking the time to play and share your thoughts!

Tried the first few minutes and the narrative framing genuinely caught me off guard, that reveal reframes the whole match-3 loop in a way I didn't expect from a mobile tile swapper.

@erkansulumutlu Thank you! That means a lot. 😊 Catching players off guard with the narrative was one of my main goals, especially since most people expect a straightforward match-3 game. I'm really glad the reveal worked for you and made you look at the gameplay differently. Thanks for giving it a try!
