You bought an $800 standing desk, but you still sit 12 hours a day. That's killing you. Sitting +10 hours daily increases heart failure risk by 60%, even if you exercise (Dr. Ezimamaka Ajufo, Mass General Brigham). StandCycle is a browser-based timer that fixes this. It runs a research-backed 45/15/1 protocol (Sit/Stand/Move) to protect your heart and posture without disrupting flow. Free forever. No signup. It's the timer your standing desk has been waiting for. Finally, use what you paid for.

Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I'm Enric, and I have a confession: I spent $800 on a standing desk in 2023...
and I've been sitting at it for 12 hours a day ever since. 😅
The problem? I couldn't find a timer built specifically for this.
Sure, there are Pomodoro apps. Stretch reminders. Generic timers.
But nothing designed around sit-stand cycles.
So I built StandCycle.
What it does:
Runs the 45/15/1 protocol, 45 minutes sitting, 15 standing, 1 minute walking.
It's based on research around optimal posture intervals for desk workers.
Open the URL. Hit start. That's it.
Why it exists:
I needed something dead simple that wouldn't break my flow state during deep work.
The notifications are gentle. The UI is minimal. It just... works.
Question for you: What's your current sit/stand ratio?
I was doing 95/5 (sitting/standing) before building this.
Have you cracked the code, or are you in the same boat?
Thanks for checking it out. Now stand up. 🧍♂️
P.S. The 60% heart failure stat in the description? That's from Dr. Ajufo's
2024 Mass General Brigham study and many others. Reading it scared me into actually finishing this.

Love the simplicity! Question: Does the timer persist if I accidentally close the tab or refresh? Going to give it a try!
