Hey Product Hunt! I built SplitterUp because after years of using Splitwise, I got tired of the clunky UI and confusing workflows that never felt native on mobile. I took a look at the alternatives and they either weren't much better of a UI/UX or they were clearly collecting and selling user data to fund the app, a business model I wanted to avoid.
Earlier this year I had time between projects and wanted to try my hand at building something better. I also wanted to challenge myself as an engineer and work on something fun after a difficult year at a high-growth startup.
SplitterUp has everything you'd expect from an expense splitting/sharing app: groups, receipt scanning, flexible splitting, real-time sync, but with a clean UI that actually makes sense. And it’s optimized for tablets too!

I priced it low because making money wasn't my primary goal building this app. Your data is encrypted. I'm not collecting anything on you, not tracking you, and I never will. I wanted to build something my friends and I could use without worrying about our data being sold to shadow brokers. That's how it should be built.
