Spenrol is a free budgeting app built for how India actually pays, over UPI. Share any payment screenshot from GPay, PhonePe or Paytm and it reads the amount and merchant for you, no typing needed. No SMS access, no bank login. Every time you log a spend it asks one question most apps never bother with: was this required, optional, or impulsive.
Hey Product Hunt,
I'm Shreyash, solo founder of Spenrol. I've been building this nights and weekends alongside a full time job, and today it's finally live.
The idea started from something I noticed in myself. UPI made spending so frictionless that I stopped noticing where the money actually went. Most budgeting apps just show you a tidier version of your bank statement after the fact. I wanted something that asks the question before the money is already spent, or at least the moment you log it: was this something you needed, or something you just felt like buying.
Spenrol reads your payment screenshots so you don't have to type anything in, tracks required vs optional vs impulsive spending, and gives you one number each day, safe-to-spend-today, so you know where you stand without doing math.
It's free, no ads, Android only right now (iPhone folks, there's a waitlist on the site).
Would love any feedback, especially if something feels confusing or breaks. I'm the only one building this, so I read and reply to everything.
Thanks for checking it out.
