Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I built Spendaq because I wanted to track my spending — but every app I tried asked for my bank login. I didn't trust that. So I built one that never asks.
The core constraint I set from day one: your financial data never touches our servers. It lives on your device, backed up to your own iCloud account. I literally cannot see your transactions.
One year of nights and weekends later — SwiftUI, SwiftData, Apple Watch, 33 languages, widgets, CSV/PDF export — it's live.
I'd love your honest feedback:
- What feature is missing that you'd expect?
- Is the onboarding clear enough without a bank connection?

Congrats on the launch! Seems like a fab app. Can I ask, how does it gather your expenditure if it’s not connected to your banking apps? And, do you see this more for personal use cases, or those who are freelancers?

Thanks so much @leah_dyke , really appreciate it! 🙌
Great question — since Spendaq doesn’t connect to bank accounts, all expenses are added manually. The idea is to give users full control and keep everything private (nothing is pulled or shared from external sources). It’s definitely a bit more hands-on, but some people actually prefer that level of awareness over their spending.
Right now, it’s mainly geared toward personal use — especially for people who care about privacy or want a simple, distraction-free way to track expenses. That said, I can see it being useful for freelancers too, especially for tracking day-to-day expenses without mixing in banking data.
Would love to hear how you currently track your expenses!

@droidapp_bd thank you for the reply! I actually really like the idea of manual expense tracking, especially for those trying to get a real understanding of their spending habits or trying to be more mindful of where their money is going. I currently have a spreadsheet that I update once a month, so this is brilliant!
