This started as something I was building just for myself. The astronomy apps I'd tried were either pricey, app-only, or stuck in flat 2D, and I wanted something you could just open and explore, so I started making one that runs right in the browser. It kind of got out of hand from there. The main idea is you can go from standing on the ground looking up, all the way out to the edge of the observable universe, without it ever cutting to a loading screen. Along the way you can stand on the Moon or Mars and see the real sky for any date, watch actual eclipses, replay the Apollo missions, or just work out what's worth looking at tonight from your backyard. With the big eclipse coming up in August, you can punch in your city and see exactly what it'll look like from there. There are around two and a half million actual stars in there, sitting where they really are in the sky, the planets and moons follow real NASA orbit data, and the exoplanets and galaxies come straight out of the published catalogs. I didn't want any of it faked or just sitting there to look pretty. It's completely free. No account, no ads, no tracking. I'm not selling anything, I just think this stuff is incredible and wanted other people to be able to mess around with it. It's still a work in progress and there are rough edges, especially on phones, so if something breaks or feels confusing, please tell me.
