Hi everyone!
I built Sound Explorer Hub to browse my external sound library before importing sounds into a game project. You can preview sounds, adjust pitch or speed, or try reverse, then drag a modified WAV into your project while keeping the original untouched.
Hi Product Hunt! 👋
I built Sound Explorer Hub after another audio manager spent more than two hours scanning my sound library and then failed. I wanted to spend more time choosing sounds and less time waiting or digging through folders.
My favorite part: preview a sound, adjust its pitch or speed, or reverse it—then drag the modified version straight into your project. SEH renders a separate WAV with those changes applied, leaving the original untouched. You can drag original files across too.
It searches across your local folders and sound packs before you import anything into a project. On my development PC, it indexed 85,000+ audio files—around 250 GB—in about 45 seconds. Performance depends on your hardware and storage; a fast NVMe SSD helps, while HDDs can take significantly longer.
The full Windows 10/11 app is free, portable and works offline, with optional contributions.
Would previewing and exporting modified sounds this way save you time? I’d love to hear how it fits into your workflow and what’s missing.
Happy sound designing!
