This is such a fascinating product idea. Do you think users might get emotionally attached over time??

@himani_sah1 emotional attachment is not a bad thing. Liking a character (just like how i admire naruto/luffy) and feel attached by itself is not bad. it does becomes somewhat toxic if the other side starts to beg you to stay. our character won't do that. she'd got her own business to do :)
I’d love multiplayer or shared companion spaces with friends or teammates down the line. Congrats on launching today.

@zerotox hey kumar what's up! haha yeah our current thesis as a startup is to put 100x effort into one single character and see how far we can push game+ai tech to simulate a real life. multiplayer is gonna be really fun down the road but the tradeoff between quality and quantity is real. i have little doubt we will see it relatively soon though!

@roopreddy ahh greattt point. we actually get that a lot, but based on current state of humanoid robot, we feel like adding the physical part will actually significantly increase the uncanny valley, logistics cost, price(therefore size of audience) and physical/ethical danger it poses to our society. staying purely software should be the way to go!

This is an interesting take. I’ve definitely noticed those small gaps while AI is generating — I usually end up drifting to other apps without realizing it. Not sure if I’d use a companion for that yet, but the idea of something lightweight that doesn’t break flow is appealing. Curious to see how this evolves.

I previously released a UGC-based AI Friends app in China, but at the time, we didn't focus as much on building out a PGC world and dedicated scenes. It's really inspiring to see @michael_shang and the SoulLink team taking this approach. There are so many possibilities for social interaction and emotional bonds between humans and AI. Excited to let 4D lead the way!
Spent the last 5 weeks doing some serious vibe coding. Wish I would have found this sooner!

@sdizzle there's gonna be a new engagementmechanism that fits people's ai-assisted workflows now. whether it's game or doomscrolling or whatever. we just think having a presence next to you is actually beaitiful and makes you feel great :)
Really love the ambient companion idea—it’s like being tucked away in a cozy cave where you can stay in the zone and feel safe while you work.

@limin_ge1 you are describing exactly what we want to build towards! my way of describing is this: late spring afternoon, teenage, sunlights in the room, you and your best friend, chilling in your living room by yourself, drinking cold soda, and share some random thoughts and laugh about it together. it's the most beautiful category of companionship that I can possibly imagine.
