How do you handle long-term memory without it becoming creepy or overly intrusive? What's the tech behind it?

@iamanantgupta oh the memory part? I can easily write a 10k word article explaining what's happening underneath. But in a very compressed way: Our awareness/memory layer bridges across contextual, relational, linguistic, and procedural layers, spans short-, mid-, and long-term recall and is engineered to balance depth, speed, and reliability. (man i feel like a german philosopher every time typing this out) is this what you looking for or more detail is preferred?

How customizable are these companions going to be?

@nuseir_yassin1 a great great great questions. this is also something that we think hard and innovate. our core thesis is around we build the most awesome character possible and her core will stay strong, consistent and unshakable(like a real person). where do we draw the line of customization? well, anything in real life that we can influence on another person, we should allow that to happen in a ai-to-human relationship. So her outfit, habit, and even some reactionary hebavior will gradually be influenced by you over time.

Welcome to Neo City, people! I’m Bowen, product manager on the team.
Ever since AI took off, everything just feels… fast. I often find myself juggling multiple agents, switching tabs, managing things all at once. And IMO, it gets exhausting. It’s like I’m here, but not really present.
My Buddhist sensei always says, “to practice is to be mindful in your everyday tasks.” I didn’t fully get it before, but lately it’s been hitting different.
SoulLink is our attempt to build something around that idea. We want to help people find small moments of presence in a world that’s moving too fast. While you’re waiting on AI to respond, instead of doomscrolling social media, you can just sit with a companion and feel the moment. Something ambient, something that keeps you grounded.
That’s the vision.

the doomscrolling between prompt runs is a real problem lol. i usually end up 5 levels deep in a reddit thread before the code even finishes. having an ambient companion off to the side sounds like a way better way to stay in the zone. @michael_shang @michael_shang

👋 Hi, I’m Winne, part of the marketing team. We’ve been working on this for a long time. A lot of time, energy, and honestly emotions have gone into it, and we really just hoped to create something that feels meaningful ✨
4D isn’t just a “character” to us. She’s someone who exists in her own world, somewhere in 2099 🌍. Over time, we’ve shared stories with her, built little moments, reflected on things together… and as the project grew, we kind of got to know her better too.
What started as an idea slowly became something more complete, more real to us, and now it’s finally here ❤️🔥
We just want that maybe 4D can bring a bit of lightness to your day, a small sense of comfort, or keep you company on those quiet, lonely nights.
