I write a lot of notes, all in one folder of markdown files. Apple Notes felt too limited, and Obsidian felt sluggish and way more than I needed. I just wanted a nice window on top of my folder, so I built one. It's native, fast, free and open source, and it uses the AI you already have installed (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) instead of charging you again. Delete it tomorrow and your notes are still right where you left them.

Hey Producthunt, I keep all my notes in one folder of markdown files. I wanted a fast, native app on top of that folder that doesn't try to own my notes, so I made Sonder. It also uses the AI you already have installed, like Claude Code or Codex, so you don't pay twice. It's free and open source, and still early. Tell me what's missing or broken and I'll fix it.
