I’m Justin, a CPA who spends a lot of time working with AI assistants like ChatGPT and Claude. I built SnapItDropIt because I kept running into the same problem:
Every time I wanted to share a screenshot, I had to save the image first before dragging it anywhere. On top of that, most of my screenshots contained sensitive client data (names, account numbers, etc.), which meant wasting time opening up other tools to redact things before I could share them.
That frustration turned into SnapItDropIt — a simple browser extension where you can:
1. Right-click to snap a screenshot
2. Draw black boxes over anything sensitive
3. Crop what you want to keep
4. Instantly drops it into most upload zones (or use Ctrl/Cmd + V as a backup)
No more juggling between apps, no more risky “oops I forgot to redact that” moments. Just right-click, redact, done.
This is the beta. It works on most dropzones and file inputs, but we’d love to hear where it helps or where it struggles.
