For many small businesses, choosing between a traditional PBX system and SmartDivert comes down to cost, simplicity, and flexibility.
A PBX (Private Branch Exchange) is designed to manage business phone communications within an organization. While it offers advanced features such as call queues, IVR menus, extensions, voicemail, and conferencing, it often requires dedicated hardware or cloud subscriptions, professional setup, ongoing maintenance, and user training. These costs and complexities can be difficult for startups and small businesses to justify.
SmartDivert takes a different approach. Instead of replacing your existing phone system, it enhances it with intelligent call routing that works with smartphones and cloud telephony. Businesses can keep using their existing phone numbers or integrate a Twilio number, then create routing rules that automatically direct incoming calls to the right team or employee.
Why SmartDivert Benefits Small Businesses
honestly this looks really useful for our support team, but one thing i'd love is a way to set custom ringtones or sounds for different routing rules so we can tell at a glance which calls are priority without checking the dashboard
@leonardodavinci Thank you for the suggestion. We appreciate your feedback and will certainly consider it for future enhancements.
At the moment, you have full control over which routing rule is active. Routing rules are configured through your Company Dashboard and can be updated or changed at any time to suit your operational needs.
@leonardodavinci Thanks again for the suggestion! We'd love to understand how your support team currently handles high-priority calls. If custom routing sounds were available, how would you configure them? Feedback like yours helps us prioritize features that deliver the most value.
The simultaneous routing saved me from a missed client call on day one, and seeing the live analytics pop in as it happened was a nice surprise.
@ivy_bert This is exactly why we built SmartDivert. Intelligent routing ensures your customers reach someone who can help immediately, while live analytics show you the impact in real time. Imagine what that could mean over hundreds or thousands of customer calls. We're just getting started.
Love how cleanly the three routing modes are presented front and center. The "Priority vs Simultaneous vs Manual" framing makes it obvious which to pick without reading docs.
@pierce_gui Thank you! Simplicity is one of our core design principles. We built SmartDivert so businesses can understand and activate the right routing mode instantly—without manuals or technical training. Every missed call is a missed opportunity, and our goal is to help businesses capture every one.
