Another app playing into the rise of anonymous social interaction, this time in a physical space.
Of course it would need to be widespread to really make it a "thing". Others need to be using it for it to be truly useful.
Their piece on Medium (https://medium.com/@slightapp/co...) paints the best picture, I think:
"There are no followers to add, no friend requests to accept. Slight has no user accounts, no sign up or log in. We take no email, no Facebook connect. You simply add comments to your location, and these are displayed for all to see, or delivered as notifications to everyone within 40 meters.
Slight is for letting everyone at a BBQ know that the food is ready. It’s for talking to the people in your apartment building or for starting a conversation in a restaurant."
I think it is a reaction to the Instagram and FB driven need to project an image. I think snapchat is also a reaction to that. That's why consumers want it. Producers keep making new ones because they see $$ in it and outlier outcomes
Similar to Bubble (more a messaging UI) and TenTwenty.
I'd personally be more interested in a pure anonymous app between my friends, I think Secret is introducing a tab for just friends posts.
