Hi Product Hunt, I'm Nicolas and I build slicecut.
A talking-head video takes 7 minutes to record and often 20 more to cut on a timeline. Most of that time goes into scrubbing for the right frame and dragging out every pause by hand. I wanted that cut to take less than a minute, on the phone the video was shot on.
slicecut turns your take into a transcript. You tap the words you don't want, or drag across a sentence you flubbed, and the cut lands right before the next word. One tap trims every pause in the project to a target length. Rendering runs on the phone at source quality, and only the audio track leaves the device for transcription, to servers in Germany.
The app does one job on purpose. There are no filters, effects or subtitles, although captions are the one thing I'm building right now.
The free plan gives you 30 minutes of import a month with the full editor and no watermark. Paid plans start at €7.99 and only add minutes. slicecut runs on iPhone and Android.
