What's great

Shifting from isolated API connectors to building rich, interactive UI applications inside LLM ecosystems usually introduces severe environment and protocol friction. Skybridge addresses this paradigm shift perfectly by providing a full stack React architecture optimized for Model Context Protocol delivery. The out of the box handling of view rendering layers, native client compatibility wrappers, and live hot module reloading effectively bridges the gap between web standard components and assistant interfaces, letting developers treat AI interfaces exactly like modern web targets.

What needs improvement

The foundational framework handles static UI elements and core data schemas exceptionally well, but the current layout architecture faces clear constraints when managing complex multimedia or dynamic video assets. As the broader assistant application landscape evolves to handle rich media, adding dedicated, high performance stream wrappers directly into the component library would be a massive upgrade. Additionally, providing more granular documentation around custom state serialization between disjointed client sessions would simplify building long running user workflows.

vs Alternatives

I evaluated standalone custom MCP server configurations built from scratch using official SDK boilerplates alongside alternative commercial agent hosting scripts. Building the server infrastructure manually introduces heavy operational drag, requiring you to construct custom transport tunnels, view abstraction layers, and client routing schemes manually. I chose Skybridge because its built in local emulation toolkit and robust test tunneling framework provide an instant, secure local feedback loop before pushing code changes live to production environments.

I love how quick and easy it is to get started: the local emulator and dev tools provide instant visual feedback when building your MCP App, and the Skill used with Codex guides you through the whole design and implementation process very seamlessly.

What needs improvement

More templates would be nice, especially for the Travel industry

vs Alternatives

Skybridge is just superior in terms of DevX. It provides a built-in Tunnel to link your local app to ChatGPT and Claude, it has a built-in MCP auditing tool, and it allows you to deploy your server on the cloud in just 1 click.

What's great

The distribution angle is what clicked for me: insurance and retail teams aren't just building tools, they're opening a new channel inside the AI assistants their customers already use daily. That's a real shift. The embedded devtools and playground are the right call too, instant feedback loop before pushing to ChatGPT is exactly what shortens the 'does this actually work?' cycle. Curious how you're thinking about discoverability once the app stores get crowded?

Discoverability is still a big unknown! Right now there's a big advantage of arriving early into the Apps stores, in the long term I would not be surprised if an auction system like the one in Google adwords gets implemented by the main players
