This started when a Finnish ministry asked us to help them shift through 500+ pages of public consultation responses to systematically analyse them and find the themes and sub-themes. They had tried simple AI tools but got frustrated with lack of transparency, hallucinations, shallow insights and constantly changing structures. We hacked together a way to structure the consultation responses and then realised this type of knowledge work of translating individual documents into broader themes is actually very common. Consultants analyse interviews for a Due Diligence. Lawyers need to shift through troves of documents. Market and UX researchers want to find themes from customer input and so on. Before Skimle, people would do this using old world tools and manual processes. Basic AI gave the calculator, but Skimle gives them the Excel - a way to structure, analyse and visualise data at scale.

OK today's Product Hunt lineup seems to be tough - Claude Opus 4.6 and GPT-5.3-Codex there competing against new entrants like Skimle. Hoping the David vs. Goliath story was really an allegory about our launch today!
