Hey everyone,
We started this project after a family member became a stalking victim. We quickly learned that her name, home address, phone number, and relatives' names were plastered across dozens of people-search sites. Removing her from those sites meant visiting each one individually, navigating completely different opt-out flows, uploading ID documents to sketchy forms, and then checking back every few months because the data just reappears. She spent an entire weekend on it. Three months later, most of the listings were back.
That experience radicalized me on data privacy. The $290+ billion data broker industry profits from selling your personal information, and the burden of opting out falls entirely on you. Consumer Reports tested the major removal services in 2024 and found that even the best automated tool only removed 68% of listings after four months. The most well-known service managed just 27%.
Sirveil is our attempt to do better. What we've built:
• An AI scanner that searches data broker and people-search sites for your exposed profiles, with confidence scoring on each match so you know what's real versus a false positive
• Dark web monitoring, so you know if your credentials or personal info have appeared in breach dumps
• Automated removal requests sent electronically to brokers, citing the applicable state privacy law, with every request tracked through its real lifecycle — we don't mark anything removed until the broker confirms it
• And the headline of this release: federal records requests. You can now request the records that 8 federal agencies — the FBI, DHS, CBP, DEA, IRS, DOJ, FTC, and CFPB — hold about you, directly from the app. Every request is identity-verified, individually authorized by you, and tracked with a live status timeline, and a watermarked PDF copy of your request is saved to your device.
Being honest about the records feature: agencies control acceptance and processing times, not us. What we promise is a correctly prepared, properly authorized request to each agency — and if one is rejected or returned on a correctable ground, we correct the packet and resubmit at no additional cost.
We're a small team. Pricing is $7.99/month or $79.99/year through the end of 2026 (regularly $13.99/month); federal records requests are a separate one-time purchase in the app. We don't sell data, run ads, or inflate our removal numbers — if a broker hasn't confirmed deletion, we show you the real status.

Interesting concept. Do most users come in out of curiosity, or are they usually trying to solve a specific privacy concern?
@aryan787544 Almost always a specific concern. The most common triggers we see: a wave of spam calls/texts, finding themselves on a people-search site after googling their own name, or something more serious like harassment or stalking. Very few people wake up and think "I should audit the data broker industry today." The curiosity-driven users usually show up after a friend told them what the scan found. Once someone sees their own home address and relatives listed on a site they've never heard of, the curiosity phase ends pretty quickly.
@sirveil_ai Really interesting perspective. The point that curiosity disappears the moment someone sees their own information exposed feels like a much stronger positioning angle than privacy alone.

Finally got around to checking it out and was honestly surprised how fast it pulled up listings I'd forgotten about. The federal records feature feels like a solid addition.
@tanerusbek00zt Thanks for actually kicking the tires — that's the reaction we hoped for. The "listings I'd forgotten about" thing is exactly why we built the scanner: the brokers never forget, even when you do. If any of those matches look off (false positive or a stale listing), flag it in the app — the confidence scoring gets better with that feedback. And glad the records feature lands; it was the big bet of this release.
