@nhbschr@mscccc there are several very innovate Android-only apps that don't get as much attention in the startup world because most founders and investors (based on my anecdotal experience) are on iOS.
LokLok, an app for sharing photos/doodles with your friends via the lock screen, is a recent example that makes me (an iOS user) lust for Android. I think we'll start to see an increasing number of creative Android apps that do things that aren't possible on iOS.
@rrhoover i agree. it's refreshing. plus, google has made it so much easier to move fast, iterate, and learn on android through things like staged rollouts, built in beta groups, better insights (than the ITC insights). i'm excited to see more devs taking advantage of this stuff and putting high quality apps (like this one) on android first.
@mignano Also, with the advent of Android L's design just around the corner, it could (hopefully) let generally iOS-based developers/designers see that the Android is a good market to be in. On top of that, Google Play sales are expected to surpass App Store sales by 2018 [ 1 ].
