Turn interviews and speech recordings into speaker-labeled transcripts, with timestamps, exported astxt, docx orpdf. No account, no email: pay-as-you-go credits that never expire, plus free daily credits. Audio goes straight from your browser to EU-only storage, is transcribed on EU-only infrastructure (no AI training) and is deleted by five independent mechanisms. Our own server can’t read your files, and the key code excerpts behind that claim are public.

Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I’m Krisztián, maker of Secure Academic Studio.
When you upload a recording to a transcription tool, it’s often hard to tell what actually happens next. Many services aren’t fully transparent about which servers receive your file, how long it’s kept, or whether it may be reused. And what you upload carries more than you might think: the filename can reveal who is involved (think “Jane_Doe_Interview.mp3”), and the audio itself can contain personal or confidential details. If you don’t know where your material goes, that’s a real risk, not just for you but for everyone in the recording.
So we built the Transcriber so that the answer is clear:
• No account, no email: you hold an anonymous Credit Pack Code
• Your file is renamed in your browser, then uploaded straight to EU-only storage. Our own server never sees your audio or your transcript, and has no permission to read or list them
• Transcription runs in an isolated EU worker, with no AI training
• Five independent deletion layers (normally seconds; the outer bound is ~24h)
• Exports (.txt/.docx/.pdf) are built in your browser
Pricing: 5 credits per started minute of audio (billed in 1-minute blocks), which works out to about $2.14–3.00 per hour of audio depending on the credit pack. Credits never expire, and you get 10 free credits every day (2 minutes of audio) to try it. Failed or refused jobs are refunded automatically.
You don’t have to take our word for it: the architecture is documented in detail in our Privacy and Security Architecture article (https://secureacademic.com/gdpr-architectural-background/), and sanitized production code is in a public repo (https://github.com/secure-academic-studio/privacy-architecture). The site scores A+ on MDN Observatory (140/100), SSL Labs and ImmuniWeb (privacy and security), and 100% on Internet.nl.
What would make this useful for your workflow? Happy to answer anything about the architecture!
