Scope is a monolinear typeface designed with typographic interaction in mind. Its letters are constructed to be stretchable. Closed forms are rounded, open forms are angular. This balance breaks the technical aesthetic with a soft, human touch.

I’ve been interested in the connection between typography and interaction for a long time. When the variable font technology was introduced, there was finally a way to properly realize the plan to create a typeface for interactive use. Beside the interactive use, Scope became a popular typeface choice for branding and print due to its characteristic style. By the way, there’s a free trial version with a reduced character set. Students can request a free license to use the full version of Scope in non-commercial university projects.
