Looks great. 1. Are you using your own algorithm to cut the image's background or using an API like remove.bg 2. Are you saving depth data? 3. Are you building the reverse case, where overtime you learn what things are? 4. Plans about integrations? If I were you I'd build integrations with Figma, Photoshop wherever creation happens. 5. Other than the fun use case, which demo-graphic will actually pay for this as a painkiller for that market? Designers? who exactly needs these clipped images on a regular basis. 6. Are you thinking of any B2B plays where apps just use your camera if they need to grab something in their app as a clipping. Cheers, good luck with the product! Best, Yash

@yash Thank you! 1. All the processing happens on-device without the use of any third-party SDKs or services. 2. The app doesn’t currently rely on depth data. However, the next update will add front-camera support, which will combine depth data and a neural network. No plans to persist the depth data, though. One of Scan Thing’s tentpole features is complete data privacy. Nothing leaves the device, no data collection, no accounts, no subscriptions. 3. See number 2. :) 4. I’m definitely thinking about integrations. 5. That’s a really good question. I’ve heard from users in a number of different fields. These include designers, production companies, schools, sales and marketing, and artists. The app also offers what I consider best-in-class PDF scanning, which opens up another diverse user base. I’ve also heard from users with visual challenges that rely on the app to extract text from 'photo documents' (i.e. PDF scans that are really just an image of a document; Scan Thing embeds the images as well as the document’s text in the PDF, all of it mapped to the location of the text in the original document) that they can then hand off to the system’s text-to-speech engine. 6. That’s also something that I’m thinking about. A lightweight SDK is definitely an option. Thanks again for your support! Pierre
