Save The World

The card game for humanity

1 follower

'Save the World' is a game for 3 or more people where players compete, collaborate and everything in between to save the world. The goal of the game is for everyone to agree on a solution to a randomly chosen disaster, like an asteroid strike.

What do you think? …

After a tumultuous 2020, this feels...right.Β  A few questions for @adeoressi: 1. What inspired you to put this together?Β  2. How did you come up with the various roles, traits, disasters, etc? Given theΒ year we've had, is there any chance we're going to find ourselves looking down at a board that feels a little *too* real? 3. It sounds like you've done a fair amount of playtesting with friends and family the last few months --Β  any amusing stories you can share? For example, I'd love to knowΒ who wanted to kill who in that one game? What did that person do? Did they deserve it? 4. Assuming that there is both a doctor in the game and that said doctor is Dr. Fauci, did he pose for the official "Save the World" game art yet or will we have to wait until after he is officiallyΒ done saving the world?

@adeoressi @rklusas Hello, @rklusas! Answers below: 1. What inspired you to put this together? [MoD] A group of friends was going away for a weekend, but we did not want to play a game that was just entertaining, like poker or Cards Against Humanity. So, a gaming executive and some entrepreneurs invented Save the World to be both entertaining and insightful. Then, there was a double rainbow as we played! 🌈 🌈 2. How did you come up with the various roles, traits, disasters, etc? [MoD] The Roles, Traits and Scenarios are based on reality, and the random combination of these cards creates very funny circumstances. See below. We did not release a 'Pandemic' Scenario, as it is too close to home right now. 3. Any amusing stories you can share? [MoD] I was crying with laughter just last night during a play test online. Here are some quotes: "We need influencers to sell ice to Eskimos" "Let's agree on autoerotic asphyxiation to solve the great ice melt" "We are building the stolen underwear economy" "This is a ketamine-induced dream state, like Burning Man" "1 day of the Ressi Ruble will buy you a salad" "To eat 10 Salads per day you need to be a -CENSORED-" "We provide just enough rubles to buy just what they don’t need" 4. Assuming that there is both a doctor in the game and that said doctor is Dr. Fauci, did he pose for the official "Save the World" game art yet or will we have to wait until after he is officially done saving the world? [MoD] Well, we don't have a Doctor role, so Fauci is safe. We do have a Scientist, however. πŸ™

I was lucky enough to be part of the first couple test games, and even as the game play was still coming together, it was great fun and made for some lively evenings! I'm so glad this game is finally being made available because I've had friends who heard about it that wanted their chance to get in on the action. Let's Save The World!

@chasepalmieri Thank you, Chase!

If only this game was available in 2019. We could have given it to so many leaders to dry run how they'd deal with the pandemic haha... Cool idea @adeoressi!

@adeoressi @publicizejim Well, playing the game certainly helps figure out how to collaborate when a disaster strikes.

I love this idea!

We played this game at a few company off-sites - it's a lot of fun and great for team-building. If you like role-playing card games then definitely check it out!

Looks like a great game, especially given the year we've had. Keep us updated. We will even be able to zoom it
