Between heavy Docker layers, endless node_modules, Xcode’s massive DerivedData, and Cargo caches, my SSD was always screaming for help. I tried cleaning things manually, but keeping track of 40+ different tools and running separate commands every week felt like a chore. I wanted a tool that was blazing fast, safe, and entirely keyboard-driven. Since I couldn't find exactly what I needed, I decided to build it myself in Rust. That’s how sasurahime was born. Here is what makes it special: 🦀 Built with Rust & Rayon: It scans your entire dev stack concurrently. It’s so fast that the total scan time is just limited by your slowest single cleaner. 🖥️ Interactive TUI: No more guessing games. You run sasurahime, preview how much space you'll save, and toggle targets with your spacebar. 🛡️ Safe by Default: I’m paranoid about breaking my dev environment. That’s why deleted files go directly to your macOS Trash (Finder-restorable), and pinned versions in mise are strictly protected. 🌸 A fun fact about the name: Sasurahime is named after Hayasasurahi-me, a goddess of purification from Japanese Shinto mythology. She is said to receive all impurities and make them vanish without a trace—making her the perfect mascot for destroying stale dev caches! It’s completely free and open-source.
