Hey, I'm Shahzain. I started learning Finnish and kept running into the same annoying thing — I'd be reading something, hit a word I didn't know, highlight it, right click to open the menu, select translate, and watch the translation open up in the top right corner. By then I'd basically forgotten the sentence. Flashcard apps didn't really help either since they're a totally separate thing you have to open on your own. So I built Sanoja to fix that for myself. You just select or double-click the word right where you're reading it. It translates instantly (works both ways, English or Finnish, figures out which one on its own), reads it out loud, and saves it so it comes back for review later instead of just being forgotten. Free, open source, no account, no ads, no tracking. One thing I'm actually curious about — would this be useful for other languages too? I only built it for English/Finnish since that's what I needed, but if people are dealing with the same problem for other languages, let me know which ones. And happy to answer anything about how it works.
