I got sick unexpectedly while traveling in Greece and I didn’t know how to deal with the paperwork to go into the Emergency room. I just called SafetyWing on Skype and they explained what I had to do. I felt so relieved to have signed up for this travel Insurance when I started my solo travel journey in Europe last year! I was welcomed, tested and given medicine in the hospital without paying a dime. I only had to provide my insurance ID. I strongly recommend Safetywing to Digital Nomads and to those traveling abroad for a long period of time. It’s the most affordable-high quality Travel insurance I’ve found

Where do I start..... It has been such a phenomenal experience from the very beginning getting to know the SafetyWing team! As a company, we were in quite the dilemma. We wanted to provide all our team members medical insurance, yet no insurance company we spoke to was willing to cover our team members in different countries. So as a company that encourages remote working, how do we provide this necessity to our team? Well the journey was difficult. As many people probably know, insurance companies are constantly working against you, making it increasingly difficult to utilize their services, especially if you are a startup. Enter SafetyWing. We stumbled upon SafetyWing through Remote, and to be honest, we were skeptical. An insurance company that covers all our team members, worldwide, with great benefits, an easy to use platform AND at a low cost. Impossible. We had our first interaction with Ashley, and what can I say more than what a pleasure. Ashley was incredibly patient with us. She did a fantastic job answering all our questions and making sure we had ALL the information (definitely not what we expected from an insurance company). I mean, we sent her pages of questions after meticulously reading all the terms and conditions and she immediately got back to us with all the answers. It became clear that this was our best option, and we decided to proceed. Enter Katie. Katie is one of those very rare individuals who consistently makes any interaction fun and positive. Every. Single. Time. She got us quickly set up, made sure everyone was set up on the dashboard (which, might I mention, is awesome) and scheduled a town hall with the whole team going over every single benefit and procedure. I even receive an email every once in a while from her to check in which I think is such an awesome way to build rapport between us and ensure a positive relationship moving forward. All these interactions made us way more comfortable with what they were offering, as their culture totally aligned with ours. I also got to meet Lona who was awesome to chat with, and hearing her talk about how they maintain 100% retention was an inspiration. She made it clear that they really care about their team and I will definitely be stealing some of her methods :) Overall, it has become very evident that the whole team at SafetyWing is comprised of incredible people, who are trying to change one of the toughest industries. I commend them for that, and we will be very happy to continue this relationship for the foreseeable future. If you haven't contacted them already, you are losing time.

I am with SafetyWings pretty much since day one. And even if claim handling is very time consuming and communication pretty often a pain in the ass I supported the idea of the product. But today I found out about the biggest lack in their policy which makes it a total no go. As one might know you need to renew your policy once a year - means each policy is valid for max 12 months. I thought this is just to adjust the monthly rates based on once ages but this is not the idea behind it. The reason for the yearly renewal is that this is how they try to avoid to pay for longer treatment or expensive claims. Imagine the following: You will have a bigger accident in month 11 of your 12 months membership. Initial hospital treatment will be covered by SafetyWing. But the hospital is scheduling your necessary surgery in months 13 (or to be more detailed in month 1 after the renewal of your policy). And imagine the treatment is a bit more complicated and expensive and the injury will need another 6 months to heal. In this case SafetyWing will pay exactly NIL, ZERO, NOTHING. Why? Because the renewal of your policy is considered as a NEW policy under their fine print and the accident that happened in your OLD policy is excluded from the new one as it is a "pre-existing condition". Imagine the situation that you have a longer treatment let's say because of a serious illness like cancer. They will stop their payments the day your original policy will expire and there is nothing you can do against it.

BE CAREFUL.. I have been a SafetyWing customer for 2 years. The first claim I had was for an emergency room visit due to a dislocated shoulder. The claim was reimbursed, but my doctor also recommended I get surgery. Well, today I got an email from SafetyWing that said my policy was terminated. They sent me an email Sunday (which I didn't read until Monday) that said my payment failed. And if the payment is not successful by Sunday (that is, the same day the email was sent), then my policy would be cancelled. So you get exactly 0 days notice before they terminate your policy. 0 Days notice. Let's just hope if that happens, you've already gotten all the procedures recommended to you by a doctor. Because once that policy is terminated, you now have a pre-exisiting condition and no other insurance company will cover the procedure...

I've used Safety Wings for travel insurance on a number of occasions, and I was surprised to discover how easy it was to sign up, extend the cover, and cancel when it's no longer needed. Great user experience and super helpful customer service!

Great customer support, my questions are always answered within minutes. I started using Nomad Insurance in 2019 and felt relieved I didn't have to pay upfront for months of policies nor list out all the countries I planned on going to. As a full-time nomad, I don't know where I'll travel next nor how long I'll be away for. This is the only insurance that I felt understood my lifestyle and the need for flexibility. Highly recommend using them

I was looking for the travel insurance for my family while we were out of the home country. I found SafetyWing and was impressed by the options and flexibility they provide. All my questions were answered and I liked the option of the 4 weeks subscription. I will use this service in my future trips as well.

So far so good. Haven't actually had to use the insurance yet, but the process seems straight forward. I like how you can buy outside of your home country and pay monthly. It's great letting the insurance auto renew on credit and not having to a shell out all at once.

I used services twice and I'm happy that even when I was already in a foreign country I still could buy the insurance that I needed. Definitely, I'm gonna use their services again. Their customer service is absolutely amazing. They are very patient and they will answer as many questions as you need.

I picked up a SafetyWing travel health insurance policy due to hearing good reviews from a travel vlogger on YouTube and never looked back! The prices are VERY reasonable, the policy was easily accessible, comprehensive, and readable, and the customer support was very prompt and helpful when I needed to extend my policy at the last minute. The website design is also so fun and reassuring! For my next trip, I definitely plan on using SafetyWing again!!
