Arjun Bhargava
Hey Product Hunt! I’m Arjun, co-founder, and CEO of Rye. The Rye eCommerce API is our first major step towards our mission of fixing eCommerce. We aim to make eCommerce more efficient by eliminating the monopolistic middlemen like Amazon or ad networks that currently control how we discover and purchase products. Our thesis is that by enabling developers to build eCommerce directly in native digital experiences where shoppers are already at, it eliminates the need to rely on ads or affiliate links that middlemen control. We're excited to have raised $14M for our seed round, lead by a16z, to materialize our vision. - Read more about our raise: CoinDesk | Forbes The Rye eCommerce API is launching with three core products: 1. Rye Checkout - Programmatic checkout that you can add anywhere. 2. Rye Earn - Earn by setting your own custom margin or through affiliate commissions for any product. 3. Rye Inventory - Get product data from any Amazon or Shopify store. Affiliate links and ads do not work well. Rye Checkout and Affiliates lets developers add checkout to their native experience, eliminating conversion drop-off and streamlining the purchase experience. Rye inventory gives developers access to an inventory of 350 million products to power their checkout/affiliate experiences. We understand the importance of having a great developer experience. That’s why in the coming weeks, we’ll be releasing more products, announcing hackathons, and creating more resources to give you even more reason to start building on Rye. Get access to Rye here. We’ll be listening closely to feedback to find out how we can best support the Rye community. To build with us, join the community on Discord and let us know your thoughts in the comments. For guides on how to get started, check out our developer docs.

Hi! Question about managing a storefront built using your API platform. Is it clear to end users/shoppers that items they order will ultimately be fulfilled by a 3rd party (Amazon, Shopify store, etc.) and not by the developer who launched the storefront? How would customer support issues be handled when the storefront isn't the one fulfilling orders? Must the developer act as a customer support in-between?
