RudderStack is a perfect open-source alternative to Segment or mParticle. These two are also lovely, but their pricing is not fair. E.g., Segment charges per monthly visitors, and it becomes crazy expensive very quickly, especially working in the eCommerce field. But what I was amazed the most, it's customer support of RudderStack. I have asked, "Does RudderStack has feature X?". I got an answer "Sorry, no," and then this requested feature was released next week. I thought, "Nah, it's a coincidence" and have asked about another feature. And it happened again! First "Sorry, no", then release of that feature. Crazy! That was unbelievable crazy!

@Grofers, we use RudderStack as our customer data platform to track our customer's product impressions. Tracking all our product impressions help us build a brand monetisation platform. Through this platform we help FMCG brands cater to their customers through personalisation and help generate additional revenue for Grofers. With Rudder you don't have to worry about data volumes day in day out. You get to focus on building the product. Plus having the entire platform hosted on our internal platforms help us manage the data better. You don't need to worry about data privacy and you can always tweak the platform according to your own needs

@grofers @satyam_krishna1 Satyam's colleague here. I second what he says! Rudder has been critical to us developing our impressions data pipeline. We deal with fairly large volumes of events and haven't had any issues ever since. In addition, the team is proactive in their outreach and support. I can recommend it with confidence.

We switched from Segment to RudderStack. Migrating was a very straightforward process, we hardly had to change any of our existing code. We are hosting our own nodes and it’s costing us less than a 1/10th of our old annual Segment contract. The best part about RudderStack is definitely their awesome team. They were more than happy to hop on calls when we were first starting to consider RudderStack and talk about specifics for our needs. Whenever I ran into issues the developers in their community discord were incredibly responsive and helpful. I highly recommend RudderStack

As a social gaming app developer, we have to deal with massive user data for both BI and CS purposes. Reliability is most important thing to us. We could not afford losing or missing any data related to the customers. We have been using RudderStack since it's early beta time. We use RudderStack for our data analytics platform, UA attribution platform and raw data host/backup. With RudderStack, it has provided us the reliability we need with the extreme flexibility that allows us to direct the user data onto different BI platforms we need them to be. Nevertheless, it only needs one SDK implementation and client release rather than put multiple different SDKs in for those platforms and debug them. It saves us numerous eng hours for a startup like us so that our eng team including QA folks can focus on the product itself.

I'm a big fan of Segment.io. Nothing can beat it except a free segment.io, which Rudderstack is. Thank you for the great product and the initiative to make web apps faster.

I had chance to interact with @soumyadeb and @sumanthpuram and they are fantastic people solving a real problem. If you are looking for segment, switch to rudderstack before you get an unexpected bill.
