@pdavison I love the invite friends UX, one tap and it sends the invite. Using a random number seems like a close call in terms of the tradeoffs, though. How'd you guys decide to go with that approach?
@samwdii I think you're exactly right. It's a tough call, and we're not sure which approach is best. It's basically a tradeoff between (1) fewer taps and (2) a recognizable number. It's something we'll have to measure and text. Thanks for the question!
@pdavison I really like it, I think it's interesting and you guys are pushing the envelope with it.
There's no way you get people to invite more than 1-2, maybe 3 friends when it's 1. tap to invite 2. tap to enter the contact's name 3. edit prepopulated message 4. send 5. return to app and repeat.
I look forward to giving this a go. I am on iOS and would love to use this to share photos with my wife, but she is on Android. Glad to hear that you are working on Android as well... sharing between OS is a PITA! that is actually a big pain point that this could solve!
oh, and Congrats!
@jdbt Yeah, we hear that a lot! A number of people on the beta use the app just with their significant other and they find it works quite well for that. We are hoping to have Android out in the next couple weeks, so stay tuned. Thanks for the feedback on this!
The fact that we only share 5%-10% from the photos we take although only 5% are ones that we DONT want anyone to see is very interesting. Most of the photos we don't share even that were ok with it, is bc of the friction.
I've actually tried to solve this issue one time but wasn't happy with my solution and never lunched it.
I think you guys did a great job!
The onboarding is smart, the design is beautiful and simple, the invite system is also very smart.
I wish you great luck (:
