Riparo is a mobile app that guides couples through a structured listening exercise. Instead of jumping to fix or respond, Riparo structures your conversation so one person speaks while the other listens and reflects back what they heard, then you switch. Built on principles from the Gottman Method, it helps couples feel heard without the conversation turning into an argument. No accounts, no data collection, no subscriptions. Available now on the App Store, coming soon to Google Play.

Hey everyone! I built Riparo because my significant other and I kept running into the same problem: conversations about something bothering one of us would quickly turn into both of us defending ourselves instead of actually listening.
I came across the Gottman Method, which is a research-backed approach to couples communication. The core idea is simple: before you respond, reflect back what your partner said. It sounds easy, but in practice it is really hard to do without structure.
So I built Riparo to provide that structure. One person speaks, the other listens and mirrors back what they heard, then you switch. No timers, no pressure, just a simple rhythm that keeps the conversation from going off the rails.
The app is intentionally minimal. No accounts, no cloud, no analytics. Everything stays on your device. I wanted it to feel like a quiet space you and your partner can step into when you need to really hear each other.
Riparo is available now on the Apple App Store and coming soon to Google Play.
