Rideshare drivers GIVE UP ~60% of fares to platforms that treat them like disposable gig workers. RideHowl is turning that model upside down: 💵 Driver's KEEP up to 97% of every fare, with a hard cap of $30 no matter how big the ride (or 70% with the Free Tier). 🐺 Set your own rates & schedule: set availability windows, blackout dates, and custom pricing rules for automatic ride quotes 📊Transparent payouts & business analytics: Track your earnings and get paid out on a daily basis.
Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Jacob, founder of RideHowl.
I watched my dad work 16 hour days for 7 days a week as a rideshare driver, giving up over 50% of every ride's fare, with no freedom or ability to run the business on his own terms. Every ride resets to zero. The algorithm decides everything.
RideHowl changes the economics completely. Instead of taking a massive cut of every fare, we let the drivers decide how much they want to keep. Test out the free tier and keep 70% of every ride, or choose between one of our flat monthly subscriptions to keep up to 97% - either way, the platform fee will never be more than $30.
Additionally, we give our drivers the tools to become the CEO of their Rideshare business:
👥 Build your own client base: Riders book directly with YOU via your personal QR code and booking link.
📅 Own your schedule & pricing: Set availability windows, blackout dates, and pricing rules down to the minute, and counter-offer total fares for ultimate pricing flexibility.
💵 Transparent daily payouts & business analytics: Track your earnings, see every fee breakdown, no hidden charges, and have the information you need to optimize your business.
I built this for:
- Drivers who want to earn more and work less. Who enjoy going above and beyond for their clients. Doing trips like airport runs, corporate transport, and longer-haul rides where they create the most value but often keep the least.
- Riders who want to know exactly who is picking them up. Each ride is continuing a conversation, building onto an existing relationship; not about getting into a strangers car. Riders that want to support a small, local business vs. paying half the ride's fare to a mega-corporation.
I built this so drivers can go from part-time gig worker making a few extra bucks - to having $1,000+ days without accepting a single ride on another platform - like my dad has already done (multiple times). So they can be the CEO of their rideshare business.
Features on the Horizon: Live flight tracking for airport pickups, recurring ride scheduling, discount codes for loyal clients, and full CRM tools for Drivers to stay engaged with their clients and maximize their time and their earnings.
I'd love to hear from anyone who drives (or has driven) for any rideshare platforms: What would make consider trying this platform? What features would help make you a more productive rideshare driver?
And if you know a driver who deserves better, send them our way 🐺
