interesting. you don t have to say "hey alexa" any more. but please make it available from the spotlight widget center. I would not want to get to my third screen each time to trigger it. And in mac on app menu bar on top.
@ourielohayon Thanks for the feedback. We're a tap to activate app, so no need to start with "Alexa". We are looking at the possibility of adding "Alexa" as a wake word rather than having to tap. A macOS menu bar and customizable shortcut key are on our todo list.
@jontomato Apps are not allowed to use Amazon Music. It also seems that certain news briefings by TuneIn or iHeartRadio (all of the default news briefings) are also included in that inability to play due to licensing. If you add new news briefing sources, those will play. We are in talks with Amazon about what we can do to improve this.

I wish there was an affordance to let me know when Alexa starts and stops listening. Otherwise, great app!
@badhairday There is. The ring should pulse glowing while Alexa speech is going, like an Echo does. When long form audio plays, it's also like an Echo and has no animation. When you're talking, the blue pulses around the ring as you get louder and quieter.

@brandenr Neat stuff. It'd be cool if you could make this run in the dock by default, with menubar as an option.
I hope iOS 11 will let you switch the default voice assistant to Alexa. (It won't.)

@gabriel__lewis Apple is like a dictatorship, there is one choice theirs. Now if they would only open MacOS so it will run on PC hardware so we can finally have powerful macs again... but pigs will fly first before that happens.
@dmerms You have to ask a recipe skill something like that. Such as "Enable Campbell's Kitchen" (if not already enabled) and then "Ask Campbell's Kitchen what's for dinner"
