Hi, Product Hunt!
Apart from leading the mobile apps studio, Iβm the co-founder of nFactorial Incubator, intensive 12-week app development bootcamp to produce job-ready mobile app engineers. Our results since 2015: 200+ apps, 300+ alumni. Itβs a non-profit organization, all the accepted students study for free.
Repo Hunt is the app built in 10 days by one of our students - 18-year old Aidar Nugmanov. Itβs basically Hacker News for GitHub repositories. You can see whatβs trending on GitHub today and filter it by time or programming language. It supports Markdown for READMEs (which you can preview using Force Touch).
In the next version, youβll be able a) to sign in with GitHub and star repositories to your GitHub account; b) mark certain programming languages as favorites. Anything else you think we should add?
Looking forward to hear what you think!

@hdjirdeh Thanks for feedback! Actually, GitHub's Official API doesn't provide such kind of functionality, so we needed to come up with a solution on our own :)
Wow, this is really the right thing. Respect guys. It's time to get opensource out of the shadows! But need a web version. Need a subscription and mailing. Need a git-hunters. Really need a full "Product Hunt for GitHub". And where π± on the logo and the founder photo with a big smile?:))
@iamcrumplecat Thanks so much for the feedback! There is already a web version from GitHub, from where we take our data. Regarding the logo, it is quite tricky in terms of different licenses to use OctoCat as a logo of an app :)
I would prefer if it was a web application thereby allowing me to instantly try out the repositories from my computer. Question: What was the intension behind making it an app?
@tonybrix There's already a web page from GitHub out there, it's been made out of convenience including some handy features like widget and notifications :)
@tonybrix Nobody said that it was different in some way, I said that we adapted that functionality to mobile devices, because GitHub API doesn't support github.com/trending page

@nugmanoff ok. So this just offers a widget and notifications for github.com/trending?
