I originally built Reorient to help bring more leads to my friends that were organizing digital nomad events and workations in South Korea and Japan. This started due to other friends asking me what events and workations there were in Asia, since they didn’t know how to discover these events otherwise. This started happening a lot more as many of these programs mostly use Instagram as their main marketing channel, and not all my friends used Instagram.

Reorient shows all of these events, across East Asia and South East Asia, in an intuitive UI that would be familiar to anyone used to hotel or lodging booking platforms. We also have detailed tagging on events to help you find events that would be a better fit for you (for example, here’s a link to all upcoming Japan events with a coliving aspect).

We also started adding travel guides for South Korea and Japan to help remote professionals become productive in these new destinations as fast as possible, with tips, tricks and travel hacks you won’t find in travel blogs nor AI responses.

If you are looking for a digital nomad experience in Asia, I hope Reorient becomes a useful resource for you!

Chance Taken

One of the cool things in the last few years that has emerged in the digital nomad world is popup villages, workations etc. It's surprisingly hard to parse out and find them though as they often are in niche pockets, so this is quite useful for that. The design is also a refreshing switchup from the nomadlist style.

@chance_taken Definitely! I do want to add more popup villages in particular, though most are happening in central and south American for the rest of the year. There will definitely be some in south Asia next year though 😉

Based in Seoul and been looking into the digital nomad scene in Asia—this is super useful! Right now I travel for work occasionally but trying to figure out how to do it more intentionally.

The aggregation is helpful since I had no idea where to even start looking for these events.

One quick question - are most of these geared toward people already doing the nomad thing full-time, or are there also events for people testing it out/transitioning(like myself)?

@amy_vespexx Good question Amy! Honestly it depends on the event and where it's located, as each organizer tries to set a particular vibe and goal with their event.

For example Nomad Experience is more of a bootcamp that helps people find careers that are digital nomad friendly, so the target is for people that want to test things out. But there are also bigger festivals like Da Nang Nomad Fest that want to attract anyone that wants to work remotely, whether they are already doing so or not.

And some events may be hosted in places where it's better to have some experience working remotely first and for you to know what your limits are. Some of these events can be quite hectic in terms of programming, so juggling between participating in everything and getting work done can be a challenge. A bootcamp or newbie-friendly event will understand these situations a bit better.
