The inspiration came from a frustration that most developers know too well: the disconnect between release notes and test coverage. I'd seen it happen repeatedly, a new feature ships, release notes get written, but somewhere in between, test cases either don't get created or don't align with what was actually released. I was probably reviewing release notes for an upcoming deployment when it hit me: these notes are essentially a specification of what changed. Why are we manually cross-referencing them against our test suite? Why are we relying on memory or tribal knowledge to know if we have adequate test coverage for each released feature? The real spark was realizing that this manual process was not just tedious but risky. Features could slip through without proper testing, and we'd only discover gaps after something broke in production
