Free voice dictation for macOS. Hold Option + Space, speak, and text lands at your cursor in any app. On-device by default: no account, no subscription. A personal dictionary teaches it your words. The CLI is open source (MIT).

@tony_kipkemboi
I wanted to try it out, but it doesn't support Japanese 😭
Will you guys add support for it in the future??
Let me know if you don't mind.
Huge congrats on the launch!!
@kenisolopreneur thank you and yes we will. if you switch the model to Whisper it will transcribe to Japanese. we also support you using any open source ASR model that you prefer as well.
@tony_kipkemboi I gave up on voice typing in the terminal, so I'm gonna give this a try.
@kenisolopreneur i hear you. i built this from similar frustrations too. i started with the CLI version of the app and it still works very well too then built the mac app and now mobile then windows.
Voice tools seem simple until people actually change their workflow around them. Curious—what kind of user becomes your biggest advocate after trying Rekody?
@aryan787544 i think anyoen who cares for privacy, low-latency, and local models would enjoy using rekody for sure.
@tony_kipkemboi Makes sense. I suspect the strongest advocates may end up being the people who discover they can't go back to cloud-based dictation once they've experienced local, low-latency workflows.
I'd be interested in sharing a few thoughts on how I think this category evolves as local AI becomes more mainstream. If you're open to it, what's the best email to reach you?
@aryan787544 yes, i expect that to be the case for sure. reach me at hi@rekody.com
@tony_kipkemboi Thanks! I’ve just sent it over.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts whenever you have a chance.
