I'm Matt, solo dev and creator of RegionMirror.
I built RegionMirror out of the need to find a solution to share my 49" Ultrawide screen with colleagues using Teams, Slack, and other meeting platforms. Sharing the entire screen with someone not rocking a monster-sized screen on the receiving end of the screen share makes the content very small and unreadable. Prior to RegionMirror, sharing just a single window was how I worked around it, but that became annoying and disruptive to my flow when having to switch back and forth between applications.
With RegionMirror, you can define a portion of the screen to share and then use the "Share a window" function of the meeting tool. Then you simply move applications into the region as needed, or move the region to the applications. The shared region can be moved or resized as needed on the fly without ever stopping sharing.
You can also set up a default region that can be activated with a keyboard shortcut that you can define per monitor. This allows you to very quickly set up a screen region without having to navigate the RegionMirror menu and draw the region- just execute the shortcut and then share the region window. I find this is great for quick unplanned screen sharing sessions.

this solves a real annoyance, the zoom-in request mid-meeting is so common it's basically a running joke on my team. question on the mechanics: when you resize or move the region live while already sharing, does the receiving side see any flicker or a brief drop, or does the meeting app treat it as a totally smooth continuous window the whole time? asking because some video call apps re-negotiate the stream when a shared window's dimensions change.
@galdayan the resizing/moving happens on the receiving side after the presenter releases the mouse. If the presenter moves or resizes, it is reflected on the receiving side once they release the mouse to finish moving or resizing. There's no flicker or drop, it happens very quickly. I'll look into whether it can be made more smooth and continuous, showing the content as it is being moved/resized. Thanks for the comment!
This solves a real problem — sharing a full ultrawide screen during a call is often overkill and confusing for viewers. Does it let you save specific regions as presets, or do you have to re-select the area every time?
@ark_y_k you can set up a saved region currently and assign a custom keyboard shortcut to it so that you can more easily start up without having to re-select the area. Single preset today, but I like the idea of having > 1, so that's something I'll look to add in a later release. Thanks!
@regionmirror_dev Got it, that makes sense for now. Multiple presets would be a nice addition down the line, especially for people who switch between a few different sharing setups regularly. Looking forward to seeing where you take it!
Would love a quick toggle to swap the shared region with a different preset on the fly, like having two or three saved rectangles I can hotkey between. Would make jumping from a code window to a browser demo way smoother without dragging edges mid-call.
The blur-for-privacy toggle is the feature I would lean on most, since I always end up typing a password into something sitting inside the shared region. Is that a manual toggle I hit before typing, or does it detect secure text fields and blur on its own? Also on the saved region: if I set it up on the ultrawide and later share from the laptop screen while undocked, does the preset clamp to the smaller display or does the shortcut just do nothing until I redraw it?
Would love to see a quick toggle to switch between saved region presets on the fly, maybe cycling through them with a hotkey. I often share different areas depending on the meeting and resizing each time breaks my flow.

The scaled presenter view is such a smart touch, basically giving you a little picture-in-picture preview of what your audience is actually seeing. Honestly that alone solves a problem I've hit dozens of times sharing my ultrawide on calls.
@deniz260642 The presenter view will try very hard not to come up over top of your shared region, creating the infinite window problem. Thanks!
