@nomadapp_co @ramkumarhq We already have a chrome extension and WP plugin. But not fully functinal at this point. We're planning on rewamping it, and maybe release along with the web version. Won't be so far we believe !! Still Android might take more time.

Have I Been Sold?

You made a platform-locked editor that uses a proprietary file format (.rfly) and has no Markdown support AND no auto-save, which comes native with OS X?? When will this era of "buggy and crash-prone feature-less prototypes released by accident" end? If you want to make a web app, make a web app, stop pretending you're building a native app by wrapping a browser renderer in desktop chrome. If you want to make a text editor, at the very least support modern text formats - your proprietary one has fewer styling features than MD, and is by default less popular. Seriously, there should be an "early access" or "ultra alpha (aka this somehow leaked)" flag on ProductHunt like on Steam, to serve as a warning to people against checking stuff out, along with a "US only" one. The amount of time I've wasted on half-assed, platform locked, or geo-locket products like these is insane. I know I'll get some flame for this (moan moan why don't you appreciate someone's hard work moan moan) but it's hard to pick rice from a field using your feet, too, it doesn't mean I'd appreciate that type of work. This missed the mark completely, and as a writer, I can tell you that no writer who's used to their workflow would switch, not without a draft autosave and proper support for multiple formats at the very least. Maybe someone should make an "IdeaHunt" so that if you're really using ProductHunt to only gauge interest for an idea without having a usable product to back it up with, you'd do better there?

The file formats and supports has been chosen in such a way to ensure the best experience within the app. We have some minor glitches, unexpectedly happened. We're trying to fix that ASAP. @bitfalls Bruno, thanks for being honest. And I want to extend my honest apologies for the bitter experiences you had. I assure you that we will convert you to our champion. Meanwhile, I want to clear some doubts. Refly is not a browser renderer wrapped in a desktop chrome. It is a native app. There is not a pice of WebView used in any part of the app, except if the foundation library itself has inherited from a WebView. Auto save and all should have worked. Agreed the choice of the file format. We choose it as a starting place. In fact we used markdown internally for the file format. And we have a working 2.0 which has markdown support and other features like saving into Evernote. Our focus for this release was to build the AI/Machine learning part and make it seamlessly integrate into a native app. There is beast of activities going in the back end when you type. So comparing it to a standalone app is bit unfair. Anyway, this comment is an eyeopener. Every book we read proposes build - learn - iterate theory. We might have taken this mantra a bit too seriously. However offering a bad and buggy product and taking heat for it was never our intention. We worked on it for 9 months. We ran a public beta for 3 months. Thanks to product hunt, Refly has downloaded more than 1000 times yesterday. Our server logs and emails and twitter direct message indicates there are 30 people like you who ran into crashes (31 including you). Don't get me wrong. I am not defending myself. Instead I am offering our help. We want you back and we want it badly. Please write to me at rptony@refly.it. If you can attach the crash logs we will help you anyway we can.

Have I Been Sold?

@rptony @refly @tony161293 thanks for taking this in stride, guys. As someone who produces at least 2000 words of written content per day, and edits/reads around 5000 more, I'm more than interested in finally using an editor that actually helps you write, rather than just helps you edit. But as someone whose main format is markdown, there's just no way I can use this tool because it doesn't support even exporting to MD, so I'd have to write something completely discardable into it, or copy paste fragments around - if I find the time to do that, I'll definitely chime in and send you information via email, sure, and I do intend to keep an eye on this as it definitely sounds interesting to the point of being scary (will all written content start to look alike with AI help eventually?)

"Step out of boring proofreading." One of the best writing tips I ever got was: if it's boring for you to read what you wrote, why would it be interesting for anyone else? Not knocking the tool, but just wanted to pass on this piece of advice. Write in a way that's enjoyable for _you_ to read.
