I built ReelMimic because I kept seeing videos with great pacing, motion, and visual style and thought: why can’t I give an AI that reference and let it handle the whole production process? The goal was not to copy the original content, but to understand how it was made and recreate that style with completely new content. ReelMimic now handles the full workflow: reference analysis, planning, parallel production, independent review, and automatic fixes. It works with either Claude Code or Codex and runs locally. The demo video on this launch was generated in a single run, with no manual editing or post-production. It’s fully open source under MIT, and I’d really appreciate feedback from people building with agents or video tools.
