With AI bots getting harder to detect, there s been growing discussion around platforms using biometric verification (like face scans) to confirm real users.
Cool in theory... Reddit is full of bots, fake accounts and garbage engagement. But let s be real
Unlike other social media platforms, I perceive a lower level of "centralization of power" on Reddit (such as in the comparison of X Musk, IG, FB Zuckerberg, which are starting to become politically tinged).
I'm starting to see this place as a more reliable and balanced source of information, where discussions can be held at a high level, perhaps also due to sometimes stricter moderation.
Reviewers largely see Reddit as the best place for real discussion, niche knowledge, news, humor, and honest opinions, with strong communities on almost any topic. Many use it daily to learn, research, and follow interests, and some founders say it helped them study user language and launch in targeted subreddits, including the makers of OpenClawCity. The main complaints are equally consistent: uneven moderation, hard posting rules around karma, weak support, spam, dated discovery, and a laggy app that can frustrate new users.

I'm using reddit for years and it’s still my go to place to find real discussions and niche communities. whether it’s tech, memes, or random advice, there’s always something new to read. it’s not perfect, but the mix of humor, honesty, and chaos keeps it interesting every time i scroll.

The mobile app could be smoother, especially with loading comments and switching between threads. also, fewer ads and better moderation tools for smaller communities would make the experience a lot better.
I’ve been using Reddit for years as a way to learn, unwind, and connect with people who share my interests. Whether I’m looking for design inspiration, software tips, or honest product reviews, I can usually find helpful conversations. I follow a mix of subreddits tailored to my personal and professional life, and I enjoy how easy it is to jump into discussions or just browse what’s trending. The quality of content varies, but the best posts are often insightful or surprisingly useful. It’s not perfect, but it’s become part of my daily routine.
It's good for reading and just awful for asking questions and posting. Questions and posts don't show up and when I ask admins why, ask them to help, they required a verification more difficult than if I'd want to register in a new bank. And there is just no way to reach Reddits official help. Their email directly says it doesn't work and to post a bug you have to be able to post at the first place (????)
You required to have good karma to be able to post and ask questions and for earning karma you have to ask questions and post. Wt*?
Profile is lagging, constant errors and terrible attitude towards new users.
