@rrhoover so far I’ve posted my own first aid kit, survival kit, and emergency disaster kit that I’ve built over time from wilderness backpacking, earthquake preparedness, wildfires, etc. https://readykit.org/jesse/first... https://readykit.org/jesse/survi... https://readykit.org/jesse/emerg... E.g., I recommend Big Agnes tents and sleeping bags in my kit because I’ve used them on wilderness backpacking trips and know they are high quality, durable, and have a lifetime warranty. I also recommend Sawyer and Aquamira for filtering and treating water, 3M respirators and Honeywell air purifiers for wildfire smoke, etc. The idea is that anyone can add recommendations while human curators and a simple algorithm surface a mix of the highest value gear from reputable brands.

Nice work, Jesse! Design is super clean and the curation adds a lot of value here; I wouldn’t even know where to begin putting together an emergency kit. But I dig the overall mechanic and can see this extending into so many more categories. I know nothing about camping gear but would enjoy curating my own lists for home office, coffee setups, mountain biking, backyard games and much more.

This got me with the homepage and the idea of "build your own kit." This is just a list of products. Nothing more. Not a way to find a collection of items that work well together. Nothing like a quiz to find out what you need. You can't even add more than one item to a cart and buy it all at once. It's just a list of affiliate links. :/ That wouldn't be a bad thing if this actually provided anything that Amazon doesn't already (and better). I'm glad I used a fake email to sign up. Product Hunt, why you disappoint so much?

@ethan_glover so critical! Curation is valuable on its own and (I assume) most consumers would prefer to purchase from Amazon, a merchant they know and trust.
