Hi hunters! We're maker of Rayst and also software engineers. As we made several websites there were one thing people always asked anytime we publish a website and that was
How did you make it?
We decided to make Rayst to better answer this question.
Until now, the way we get to know about the website is by searching and searching for multiple different queries, digging through the developer panel, et cetera.
Rayst is a chrome extension that lets you reveal the company, statistics, and technologies behind the websites.
How does it compare to alternatives?
- Rayst shows company, stats, tech stack all at once
- Rayst supports some handy shortcuts.
Does it make my browser slower?
- Not really, analytics is only triggered when you click the badge or press the shortcut (Shift+R) from our latest version v1.0.10
We would love to get your feedback. Thanks!
P.S. You can add Rayst on Chrome-like browsers including Arc, Brave, Whale, MS Edge, etc.
@shivam1337 Oh hey we're glad that you've found tech stack data useful. Good luck on your upcoming launch too :)

π§ Good find
Nice work! I used WhatRuns, but Rayst is more functional and useful!
I think the data will be more accurate if the service gets a little more users. πβ¨
@channprj Hey Chann Thank you for saying that you've found Rayst functional and useful, we're so happy to hear that.

@daun_io Nice one! I think I have found a small bug though. When I open !Rayst from shortcut or from the extension panel in chrome it opens panel on all open Chrome windows. ;) I don't know how exactly it works under the hood but still, "thanks" to this bug your API gets few requests instead of one.
btw. monthly visits stat, where are you taking these from? It differs from SimiliarWeb, if that info is a part of your secret sauce then ignore it.
btw.2. Is there a way to change your keyboard shortcut?
@jack1913 Oh Jacek Thank you so much for detailed feedback.
1. We're aware of the bug you mentioned and we'll prioritize fixing it.
btw.1. π
btw.2. Ah that was one of our requested feature. we'll prioritize it accordingly.

This is great timing! I was going to put something together manually. When are you releasing access to the database? I'd love to be a paying alpha client.
@saasdesigner Hey Bran, Thanks for the comment. although we had some plan we wanted to know how users think about the product and had to check some technical capability for operating our database by launching on product hunt. Is there something we can help you with? Do you have any use case in mind or problem you experience around our product?

looks promising. from where are you getting the page views stats? congratulations on the launch. like the pricing βοΈ
What about data privacy? If i install the toolbar will you use my computer to collect my user data? In general it looks great, im just quite particular about data privacy and always quite skeptical about "free" toolbars - sorry for being so german :)
@f_spielberger Thatβs great question. We analyze company, stat, tech stack data on the serverside (not on your computer) when you click the badge. Other things we keep are essential logs that are automatically collected. We donβt want to collect more than what we need and if we inplement clientside analytics, weβll add option for you to opt-out of course.
