German long-distance trains were on time just 60% of the time in 2025. But that's an average, individual trains vary wildly. An ICE on the same route can be 90% reliable or 50% depending on origin, time, and route. Railwise observes the full German Rail Network at over 5400 train stations in real-time and shows you: → Per-train reliability stats before you book → Connection risk: will your transfer actually work? → Live Activities: your journey on your Lock Screen Native iOS. German & English

Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I'm Justin, one of the two people behind Railwise.
DB's long-distance punctuality was notoriously bad at around 60% in 2025. But that's a network
average, it hides massive variation. Two ICEs on the exact same route
(say, Köln → Berlin) can have wildly different reliability. One might be
on time 85% of the time, another barely 50%. It depends on where the
train originates, the route it takes, time of day, and a dozen other factors.
So we built a system that polls every station in Germany (5,463 of them)
in real time and turns that data into per-train reliability profiles:
- Reliability stats: "ICE 1511, Köln → Berlin? On time 85% of the time.
Average delay: +8 min. 6% cancellation rate. Based on 27 trips."
- Connection risk: "Your transfer in Erfurt: ICE 1503 → ICE 595, 18 min
buffer? Passengers made this connection 93% of the time over the last
30 days."
- Live Activities: Your journey on your Lock Screen and Dynamic Island:
delays, platform changes, countdown to arrival, without opening the app.
- Friends: Track friends' journeys in real time via iCloud.
- Travel log: Every ride recorded: stations, delays, streaks.
The part I'm most proud of is how actionable the reliability data is. DB's
60% punctuality figure is accurate but it doesn't help you decide between
trains. It doesn't tell you that your 7:29 ICE to Berlin is one of the
least reliable options, while the 7:33 with a transfer might get you there
faster and more reliably. Railwise does.
We just launched and would love the PH community's feedback, especially
if you've ever experienced the joy of German train travel 😄
