🚀 Introducing QReate.dev: A Simple, Free Way to Create QR Codes with Tracking! 🚀 A while ago, I was at the Lisbon Vegan Market with my girlfriend when I overheard a seller telling a customer that their QR code had expired. I couldn’t believe it—QR codes don’t expire! They’re just a different representation of data, like writing 1234 in binary or hexadecimal. After chatting with the seller, I discovered they had purchased the QR code from a website, and that’s when the idea hit me: What if there was a free platform where anyone could create QR codes that NEVER expire—and even track how many times they’re scanned? Fast forward to today, and I’m proud to announce QReate.dev—a website where you can generate simple, permanent QR codes for free. And yes, you can even create QR codes with tracking capabilities to see how many times they’re scanned and from where, all without any cost! Is it perfect? Of course not. But it works, and it’s live! Check it out, create your first QR code, and start tracking scans right away. 😁 🔗 Try it now: https://qreate.dev or scan the QR code 😏 ✨ Key features: - Create QR codes that never expire. - Track how many times your QR code is scanned and from which location. - Free to use, with a limit of 5 active tracking QR codes and automatic data deletion after 365 days. I'm excited to hear your thoughts! 🙌

Congrats! I’m very curious about the stack/tools you’ve used, @afonsocraposo Could you share it?

@jordipallaresr thank you very much! Great question 😁

I’m using Next.js with React and Typescript. For the components I’m using Mantine, I really like this library. For the database and authentication I’m using pocketbase. It’s a self-hosted, Golang-based alternative to Supabase. I like it very much. It uses SQLite and it’s very simple and powerful!

The pocketbase instance I’m hosting using Coolify, it’s an amazing project for CI/CD. I also recently added Plausible for analytics, which is GDPR compliant 🙌

The only thing I’m missing is an email service to send email communications. Maybe in the future I’ll integrate Postmark

Who doesn't like free? 🤗 Very cool tool. I can definitely see people wanting to track the metrics of their QR codes and also easily be able to adjust them as needs change. Would love to see this be a successful app and you keep adding cool features.
